The break

An English teacher,
competing with free.

My client teaches English. Her would-be students can open Duolingo and get the same lessons for nothing, from a green owl that never cancels a session. On top of that, every other tutor online was shouting the same promise — "learn English fast!" — into the same dead feed.

She was stuck at 2,000–3,000 views a video. The algorithm had quietly filed her under ignore. She came to me for a single paid consultation. We never once talked about her lesson plans.

She was selling the lesson. Her audience wanted the life.

The insight

Why choose a person
over an app?

Duolingo wins on price and convenience every time. Competing there was a losing game, so we left that field entirely and ran a psychographic deep-dive on who was actually in her orbit.

The real answer had almost nothing to do with grammar. Her audience was young Russian women who wanted the life she was living: single, independent, based in Bali, dating foreign men, moving through a world that runs on English. Her speaking clubs filled up because those women wanted to date abroad and travel — and you can do neither in silence. Femininity, modern dating, freedom: that was the real curriculum. English was just the cost of entry.

Her own "why" was simple — she wanted the freedom to create and to get paid for it. Once I had that, the content strategy wrote itself.

The engine

The polarization engine.

01

Psychographic Map

Named what her audience actually came for — the aspirational life, with English as the ticket price, not the product.

02

The Reframe

Repositioned her around identity — femininity, freedom, dating abroad — instead of lessons nobody searches for.

03

The Format

Street interviews on Bali beaches: attractive foreign men asked one combustible question — what do you really think of dating Russian women?

04

The Polarizing Topic

Chosen on purpose. Beautiful and feminine, or cold and transactional — every viewer has a verdict before the clip finishes loading.

05

The Pre-Interview

The move most people miss. Before rolling, I coached each subject to take a strong, unhedged stance. A lukewarm opinion dies in the feed.

06

The Comment War

Half the audience defends, half attacks, and they argue with each other. That argument is the product — engagement compounds into reach.

The response barely matters. The topic guarantees the fight.

The outcome

The DMs, in her words,
exploded.

Inside the first month, off a single consultation, she went from 2–3K views to clips landing in the millions. She kept teaching exactly what she taught before — we just changed what she was selling.

I engineer virality for founder-led names — coaches, creators, educators. We start with a paid consult and find the break before we fix it.
