The Marley family came in by referral with a hard problem: Marley Kitchen, Marley Naturals, House of Marley and Zion Rootswear Apparel were four very different businesses wearing one very famous name. They needed a single brand house that evoked the spirit of Bob — not his caricature — and carried his guiding principles into food, wellness, audio and apparel.
And the book had a second job. It wasn't a lookbook; it was the pitch deck — the document that would go on to raise millions in seed capital and launch the Kitchen, spirits and beverage lines. Forty-five days, start to finish.
Evoke the man through his principles — never his face.
The legacy · the principles behind the houseBob's values weren't decoration; they were the strategy. The move was to make food the vehicle that carried them. Five calls shaped the book:
Bob's name had become a license on everything from headphones to rolling papers. We anchored the house to his guiding principles — Unity, Family, Love, Sustainability — so every sub-brand had one filter to pass, and recognition stopped meaning dilution.
Four unrelated businesses under one name read as a gift shop. Food — the table everyone returns to — was the single idea warm and universal enough to hold Kitchen, Naturals, House of Marley and Rootswear together.
Investors fund categories, not nostalgia. We framed Marley Kitchen as a natural-foods play in a surging category, with Bob's cultural equity as unfair distribution — the legacy as the moat around the business.
"Natural" is the most crowded word in the grocery aisle. "United by Flavor" let the brand own a feeling instead — food as the force that gathers people, carrying values that are verifiably Bob's.
A celebrity estate walking into clean food invites cynicism before it earns trust. Leading with Cedella Marley and real Jamaican heritage — recipes, ingredients, provenance — let the brand earn authenticity instead of stamping it on the label.
Mapped Kitchen, Naturals, House of Marley and Rootswear into one coherent house with clear parent-child logic.
Translated Bob's guiding principles into a platform a food brand could actually stand on.
A visual language built on Vibrant, Soulful, Authentic, Natural, Uplifting and Unifying.
The photography world — flavor-forward, hands-in, warm, and unmistakably Caribbean.
Shaped the deck so it read as an investment case, not a brand lookbook.
A path for Kitchen, spirits and beverages — the lines that later reached Whole Foods.

It did the job a brand book rarely gets to do: it became the pitch deck. It unified four businesses, evoked Bob through his principles instead of his likeness, and helped raise the capital that launched Marley Kitchen, spirits and beverages — lines now carried in Whole Foods, the largest organic grocer in the United States.
I turn brands into houses — positioning, architecture, and the deck that raises the round. We start with a paid consult and find the one idea big enough to build on.
